Spinning another yarn… roCycle-Cinema

Local engineers have designed and built ten special stands so that members of the public can generate power while riding their own bicycles.

A series of LEDs strap onto people’s handlebars to indicate when they are riding fast enough to charge the battery that runs the projector and sound system.

A sequence of lights near the screen indicates whether the team of cyclists is generating enough power at any given moment.

For those of you interested in how these units were made, a document is available by Kerry Mulligan who helped create them.  Watch  A spin class and movie-in-the-bush
